Italian fashion house Gucci will sell fashion items on the Zepeto metaverse

Italian luxury fashion brand Gucci has teamed up with Zepeto, a metaverse and social media app to customize avatars and create virtual worlds. As part of the collaboration, users will be able to dress their avatar with pieces from House collections via in-app purchases. The world of Zepeto x Gucci also includes a Villa Gucci to explore.

Zepeto allows users to turn selfies into 3D animated avatars, which can then “meet” other users’ characters on “Zepeto World,” a virtual world that users can create and interact with others, said Gucci in a press note.

Recently, Gucci also acquired land on The Sandbox, a virtual Metaverse where gamers can play, build, own and monetize their virtual experiences as part of an interactive extension of Gucci Vault, the company’s experimental concept store.
