Italian high-end luxury fashion house Gucci has acquired land on The Sandbox, a virtual metaverse where gamers can play, build, own and monetize their virtual experiences. The new project is an interactive extension of Gucci Vault, the company’s experimental concept store that is the vision of its creative director Alessandro Michele.

Gucci Vault is building its own virtual world on The Sandbox, the fashion house said in a tweet.

Digital collectibles created and designed by Gucci designers will be made available through The Sandbox for gamers and creators.
